‘The Recess’ grabs award at Sanfrancisco Frozen filmfest

Iranian short film ‘The Recess’ has won award at the Sanfrancisco Frozen Film Festival (SFFF) in the US.

Directed by Navid Nikkhah Azad, grabbed the best short drama award at the 15th edition of the American event.

The short film is about a student who aims to escape school with the help of her friends.

‘The Recess’ has competed at more than 20 international festivals in Turkey, Chilly, Canada, the US, etc.

Nikkhah’s flick has previously grabbed the best short film award at the 24th edition of the Johns Hopkins Film Festival in the US and the best short film award at the Oxford Film Festival in the US.

The short’s cast includes Mojan Kordi, Reyhaneh Nabeean, Niloufar Shokouhinia, and Ghazal Khalili.

The SFFF promotes inspiration and provide public avenues for filmmakers to show their art and to tell their story.

The event was held on July 14-18, 2021 and the winners were announced on July 19.
